ALBUM DESCRIPTION

This is it, Shantytowns first release and we could'nt have picked a better artist to give our label a boost. Who's Joe Ferry? Joe produced two Skatalites albums, "High Bop Ska" and "Greetings from Skamania".
Joe knows Jamaican Ska and Big Ska proves it. Sounds like Skatalites.

ARTIST DESCRIPTION
am a Grammy nominated record producer whose credits include The Skatalites ("Hi-Bop Ska" & "Greetings From Skamania"), The Skandalous Allstars ("Age of Insects"), The New Orleans Klezmer Allstars ("The Big Kibosh" & "Fresh Out The Past") and legendary blues musician Dr. John ("Bluesiana Triangle") among hundreds more. I have three ska CDs out under my own name: "Skallelujah", "Big Ska" & "Bootleg" and am currently compiling an anthology by my long defunct but still popular Ska Punk band, Hurtin' Buckaroos. That CD will be released this summer on the label that I co-own with my business partner, Charlie Dahan: Larchmont Recordings Inc. I also Chair the Studio Production Dept @ S.U.N.Y Purchase and I have a Ph.D. I produce over 200 recording sessions each year for a number of record labels including CMH, Vitamin, CMG, Mighty Tiger, Shanachie and of course Larchmont. I produce mostly reggae, ska, blues, klezmer, lounge and jazz. I have toured the USA extensively as bassist with The Sue Foley Blues Band, Billy Vera, Richie & The Pocket Rockets, as well as my own bands: Hurtin' Buckaroos and Big Ska. I have played bass and guitar on thousands of record dates for a variety of artists including Sue Foley, Mick Taylor (formerly of The Rolling Stones), Arlene Smith, Debbie Davies, Michael Hill, Luther Vandross, Debbie Allen, Rhonda Vincent, Eileen Ivers and many more.
